The website ‘Nest of Rotting Grass’ was developed as a teaser for an Ogilvy and Mather creative conference held in New Orleans during April 2005. Creatives from all over the world were invited to the conference, so the purpose of the website was to intrigue and educate them about New Orleans – its unique customs, attractions, and idiosyncrasies – before their arrival. A mysterious message was sent unannounced to the attendees, with a link to the website. When entered, it gave them a glimpse of New Orleans through the eyes of Miss Clio, a fictional character who had arrived in New Orleans on her own personal journey. By following Miss Clio’s quest, attendees unwittingly experienced sights and scenes that they themselves would later experience during the conference. The end of Miss Clio’s bizarre journey coincides with the conference details being revealed to the user. |
